Prayer is one of the most basic disciplines of the Christian life. Yet, many Christians are struck with fears and uncertainties as they speak to God.

A curious thing happens when we turn to the Bible and see Jesus praying. We find anguish and honesty, anger and anxiety. There are times of sharp and pungent expressions of the human condition and emotions. All of this directed to God, as if he could take it.

Praying with honesty can feel irreverent, but what if this is the way God actually wants us to pray. What if we've fundamentally misunderstood prayer.
